What do you think your animals do when you leave the house!

Most of the time they probably just sleep in the sunshine (they stay outside during the day), but sometimes Hugo will let out really long howl - woooooooo, with his nose straight up in the air. It sounds so pitiful. He did it the other say because he thought I left, but really i just went to mow the front yard. While I was trying to start the mower I heard him howling so I had to go give him a quick hug to let him know I was still at home and he was fine. He will also do this when my husband takes our other hound to the vet or somewhere without him. My other hound Honey is perfectly content by herself.

Well, I've seen what my dog does at home by himself. He opens the refridgerator and has a snack (closing the door after, of course). Chases the cats around the house. Rips the cusions off the couch to make a bed. Takes a nap. Stands on the couch to bark at squirrels. And is napping again by the time I get home. About the only thing he didn't do, was let all the others out of their crates!

My dog does the same thing that he does when I am home - he either sits on my bed and sleeps or will sit in the window sill of the front window and look out at the world. When I've come home from work, he's done both.

I have a 9 month old pomeranian who seems to sleep while we are gone. She ALWAYS greets me at the door where I come in from the garage. :) She knows it is time for our walk-her favorite time of the day!

my dog sleeps. if i come in late & sneak in quietly, i find her upstairs in my bed snoring away. what couch?? who wants the couch??

I have two cats. One of them sleeps when I am gone. The other one sits in the window wating for me to come back.

I know they 'crash' for the day. On days when I am home, it will get to be the time I normally leave for work and they will stretch out on the sofas and fall to sleep...it's their routine. :-)

I think they sleep. When I used to work longer hours and come home to let my dog out at lunchtime, I found my cats and dogs all sleeping!

well i hafta say i think your dog finally takes the charge and command as the man of our house... being raised and living with two woman we think he gets a complex.. hahaha he just sits around playing doing whatever he wants.. everyonce in a great while he does get mad at us tho... he will chew stuff up or get into things he's not supposed to.. that lil buger... our cats i dont think really care to much when we not around since they are so independent.. he does know when we get readt for work tho.. we know it by his look.. so he wont even get up.. hehehe big baby!!

I'm 100% positive that when we leave the house Janye yells out to every passer-byer to come inside and play with him and his BBQ rib squeak toy. Romeo (has anxiety) so he barks at Janye and tell him that it's his fault Mommy and Mommy left again without taking him along. As far as the cats go.. they sit around passing the cat nip through the door because Toby stays downstairs and Zeb, Baby Owwie, and Rezin hog the Video Game system.
