Try lemon juice. Buy lemon juice in the lemon shaped container (not the bottle). When ever your dog barks say their name and tell them to be quiet or no bark..or whatever command you want to use. If they bark again say the command show them the lemon juice and squeeze a small amount into their mouth. Do it every time they bark.. say their name and then the command "Fido, be quiet" then lemon juice in their mouth. I got this tip from my trainer when my dog was a puppy. Now all I have to do is say "Abie be quiet" and show her the lemon juice and she stops barking. Every now and then I will have to squeeze lemon juice in her mouth, but then she stops. However, you will find the rare dog that likes the lemon juice. My friend has a Dachshund, that actually wags her tail and barks even more when she sees the lemon juice. Hope this works for you.

The spray bark collars can spary an other dog that is not barking. My friend had one on her dog and he barked at my dog, and the collar sprayed my non barker in the face (he really did not like it). So, it works, but be careful about letting other dogs get sprayed by it! Good luck with the barking, there are good suggestions here.

When training methods don't work, they do have a "shock" collar that sends a mild "shock" to the dog every time he barks. My in-laws are using this on their puppy, and it worked almost IMMEDIATELY to stop his barking.
However, there are some setbacks to it -- if any dog is near him and barks, it sets off his collar and he gets shocked for the other dog barking. In their case, Indy (the pup) gets irritated at the dog who barked and nips at them as if to say "HEY! If I can't bark, neither can you!" It's actually rather cute. :)
HOWEVER, these are TRAINING tools and SHOULD NOT be used as a solution, but rather a TOOL to train your dog not to bark. The dog should not wear it all the time and you should not assume that it alone will solve the barking. You need to be proactive!

They also have citrine dog "shock" colors that sprays a non-toxic citrine in the dogs face when it senses a bark. A lady used it at the dog park and it seemed to work effectively.

The more gentle approaches did not work for my Siberian Husky, so we tried a shock collar. He learned very quickly from that and after just a couple of months we were able to ween him off it. Now, he never barks unless there is a good reason for it! I recommend the Petsafe collar. If your dog has long, thick fur you may need to trim the fur at the front of his neck or the collar will not be effective. In the case of our German Shepherd, she needs it on all the time when she is outside or she will bark non-stop at anything or nothing. We have not been able to ween her off it, but she has learned not to bark when she has it on, so she rarely gets shocked. She definitely knows when she does not have the collar on!
