It varies you can call several different vet even shelters to get prices. I recommand to do all animals microchiping saves them to come back home to you if they get lost!

Two of my dogs were chipped at the SPCA at $25.00 each which is the same price my vet charged. However, I am not satisfied with she was registered through the vet. If she is lost, the vet get notified instead of me. It will cost me an additional $50.00 now to have her re-registered with my info.

We charge $40. A vet doesn't have to do it. Animal may bleed a drop or two on the spot where it happens but suprising they usually dont mind the big needle.

When I had Zeus micro-chipped...it was $30.00 at the time. Usually they like to do it during a neuter, or dental procedure or anything that requires the animal to be under anesthesia....Because they have to use a very large needle to accommodate the "chip", which is the size of a grain of rice. It can be done at the normal vet appointment, but it might be uncomfortable for the dog. I would contact you vet for pricing, and when it should be done.
