Microchipping generally costs about $25.00 at your local SPCA and it is probably the best $25.00 you will ever spend. It does not hurt the animal and if they ever stray the person who finds them can have animal control or a vet check them out for it

It's only $25 at Memphis Animal Shelter. Check with your local animal shelter or humane society to see if they do it as they will be less expensive than the vet.

I think I either paid $ 45 or $ 60. Now you have to pay to keep your pet registered every year.

Our local shelter offers microchipping services for $25.00. Vets are a bit more. I'd say it would greatly depend on where you live. My suggestion would be to make a few calls, but start with your local shelter to see if they offer that service.

Depends on where you live. The Humane Society in Pinellas County Florida it costs $15. In Tennessee a friend of my mothers got it done for $40 and it came with $300K of pet insurance. I went to a Pet Day last summer and Animal Control was passing out coupons to get it free from them. I have heard a lot of vets are charging $40 but I haven't checked that one personally. I did read that the microchip can break lose and move around the body but that it doesn't harm the animal but makes it harder to find if scanning. I am still going to do my 2 new rescues but not my 15 year old as I don't want to cause her any extra stress as she has 3 types of cancer and needs more comfort then any extra things done at this time but if I knew about it when she was young I would have done it.

It varies, but be sure to shop around first. Max got his chip free when we went to the Chicago Humane Society 5K Fun Run-FundRaiser. The membership and registration was about $35 at the time, and that was almost 10 years ago.

When we got Frankie's microchip two weeks ago. The chip and procedure cost $40, and the AVID membership and registration is $18.50 (this is for one dog; and $50 if you have many pets). Good luck and keep us posted!

depends on where you go for the pirce, i would check out local shelters and spay/neuter clinics and see if they do it and their prices. as for a vet doing it, as long as there is a vet on the premises a tech or anyone else that works there can implant the chip. where i work chips are 10 and at another place i worked they were 15.

Check with the rescue groups. Often they have microchip clinics. I know ours has had several for the horses and some people also brought their dogs. The amount is minimal. I think around $20.
