I have a Golden Retreiver. Her name is hope, she is 1 year and 3 months old. She loves to play ball outside. She loves the softball or the frizbee. She will catch the ball then return it to you at your feet. If she dosen't catch is she will run really fast after it and return it to me!

Max is a border Collie, but there is no where around my area to run him. In my backyard we play soccer and football. He loves to bring the ball to me, drop it and as soon as I try to pick it up, he gets it back with his paws. On hot days I will throw the ball into the pool so he can jump in and get it. Oh, did I mention it is just a kiddie pool. LOL
I would love to be able to bring him to a real pool and see how he does. Maybe I'll sneak into the park pool when they're closed. Do you think I would get into too much trouble? Since it is located in a state park. haha

I wanted to get into agility or flyball, but there really isn't anywhere in my area that is feasable to do stuff like that... so we spend our days running laps around the yard or visiting local dog parks... my girl also L-O-V-E-S to swim so we try to do that as often as possible when its warm out!

Blues, BB, Lyric & soon Turbo all compete in agility. I have done some just for fun lure coursing. Blues and pooh love it. I wish they had toy dog lure coursing we could compete in. I have several retired breed dogs. I also have several dogs that like to play fetch, and play in the kiddie pool.

First, what a great question! Thank you. Bonnie Rose is a border collie so we are trying to work with her on agility not for competition but for her to enjoy. We play "herd" with her. We actually let her herd us in the lawn. She has learned to play soccer. She has started to use her paws with the ball. Not sure this is a sport but I am working with her in training for a service dog and a therapy dog. She loves it as well. To a border collie its a job. They feel they have to have jobs. Every night at 7-9p.m. she knows when her "daddy" is home from work its time to go out and play soccer and herd. She has started showing her herding instincts. Its really great to see the natural instincts come out. She has started nipping our calfs (not hard though)as she would a bad sheep that is out of the pack.We believe in even though she is a indoor dog she needs to maintain her instincts so we work on keeping them going and helping her bring them out. I guess you would call this play?
