If he did that to his mother (his dog mother) she would grab him and hold him down until he settled down. Dogs don't yell at one another, they don't hit one another. All human scolding is foreign to dogs. Mom dogs will poke, nip, growl, show teeth and pin puppies down. About all we humans can do and still keep our dignity is poke and pin them down. You need to be a stronger leader. More exercise will help a lot. Puppies need to be kept mentally and physically tired.Training also helps with all dog problems. Read up on it. Try Ceasar Milans books(on line) and tv show the Dog Whisperer.

My chi used to do the same thing. When he nipped at my heels I stopped moving. As soon as he stopped I would walk again. Everytime he nipped at my heels I did this. After a while it wasn't fun anymore. The same thing for my hands. He used to jump up to get my hands. I would just stand still until he stopped. He is 2 yrs old now and no longer nips. I really needed him to stop as we compete in agility and you can be excused for a dog jumping up and biting you. I was also afraid I would trip over him when we were running. Now he is great.

Maybe whenever he does that say "no" and maybe give him a little flick on the nose or snout. Maybe he will learn by that, and whenever he doesn't nip you maybe give him a little treat and say "good boy!" Whenever he nips you do the flick thing(but not hard) and maybe wait until he calms down and when he does calm down give him the treat! Hopefully it works! Goodluck!
