Please don't use her kennel as a punishment for her bad deeds. The crate should be a happy place for your dog.

it could be because she is older. You can do the same thing to your dog as you would a puppy, when she does you show her (nicely) what she did wrong and (not cruely) punish her by either putting her outside for a little or maybe in her kennel for a little while. after a while she'll realize she doesn't like being put outside or in her kennel! Remeber though shes still a dog so be a little nice!!!!

Try what Doc Jill says. If she's not spayed, you should do that. If she wants to be dominate she could be marking territory she thinks should be hers. She should not be allowed on your bed or couch until this problem gets fixed,or have free run of the house. She needs to earn that. People tend to spoil small dogs for two reasons -they're little and they're cute. BUT they are still dogs. You have to be a strong leader to clear up ANY behavioral issue. If your weak. then the dog takes over and that creates all kind of problems. Don't feel guilty about anything you do when you are training her. She'll be a much happier dog when it's done.

she sounds very confused, sounds like you need to go back to step one and start re-house breaking her. That means you will have to keep her in a crate when you are not watching her every move and take her out for frequent bathroom breaks. Long walks also help too, and don't forget about scheduling feedings. Leaving food out all day will make her off schedule.

It could also be a behavior issue...
