Should I turn my neighbor in?

Urgency:Need to know

I have a new neighbor that just moved here with three dogs. She told us that one of her dogs had worms and that she couldn't afford the meds. for all three dogs so she just gave them cigarettes to eat. I was flabbergasted when she said this, she said it made the dogs sick and got rid of their worms. I just think that she needs to give up the dogs if she can't give proper care, she is giving them poison by making them eat the tobacco. Will my SPCA do anything just by my word? I'm going in to see our SPCA director tomorrow morning. I mainly don't want any retaliation from my neighbor because only me and another friend/neighbor knows about it. She is not very bright but would know it was one of us. I'm going to ask the director if she can ask to see the dogs vet paperwork and get her to confess that way. Also, her THREE dogs are locked in a pen with one dog house for at least 5 hours a day, no shade so that in itself is a reason for her to be looked at. Thanks to all, I knew I was going to turn her in, just how to not let her know it's me.

I was just thinking, if you & the other neighbor that knows, go in together & buy paste dewormer, the OTC kind. Do you think she would use it or you could give it to her dogs. If 1 dog has worms they more than likely all have them. Just a thought:)It would help you out knowing that your neighbor dogs don't have worms that could infect your pets while outside.

Save the animals from the stupid humans! Turn this situation over to your SPCA director like you said & than leave it alone. Let them handle it! I had to do the same thing w/ 1 of my neighbors. I had their dog taken away. I am sure they know it was me because I had been calling them & leaving them phone messages about their dog during the day. He would be running lose, eating road kill in the roads, dragging deer carcasses home. Leaving dead animals in our yard. He attacked me & my 2 dogs while we were walking on our own property. He started becoming wild since they left him outside w/ no shelter, food, water or attention. I think they knew it was the right thing to do by giving up their dog. To this day they have never said anything to me about it. Your neighbor doesn't sound like the brightest bulb in the package but hopefully she will understand it's only right to do whats best for the dogs. I hope your SPCA does something about this situation. Good luck to you & your 3 neighbor dogs. I wish the best for all.

I personally know of how scary retaliation is. I once got in an argument with a strange neighbor and she told another that she would put razor blades in pieces of steak and throw in my yard for my dog to eat. Report it, but be sure you won't be blamed.
