I just rescued 2 pups and they have fleas - does anyone know of anything that I can use? A groomer said to try blue dawn dish soap, (not good enough) and/or baby poweder (worked better) but still have them...any suggestions?

Take them to the vet. There are some good meds out there but they have to be age and size appropriate for each medicine.

I think with puppies that you just got they should be at a vet for a check from top to bottom, I've never adopted a dog that I haven't had to the Vet the first week, it's expensive to do but it saves money in the long run, and instead of messing with things that are a short term fix, if it does work, get them on frontline it is safe for pups 8 weeks old given the right dose from a Vet, he/she can also tell you how to get rid of the fleas safely, over the counter stuff usually doesn't work and has caused death in dogs & cats, frontline does not go into the blood stream. Good luck

I had kittens with fleas once and my mom and I gave them a bath and picked the fleas off with tweezers. We also had a guy from Orkin (a company that gets rid of bugs) come in. He put a little box in thier pin and it stops the fleas from breeding. It saved their lives. If you don't get rid of the fleas they can easily die from it. The kittens had bad seisures from them.

i read that apple cider vinegar is suppose to help. you dip them in apple cider vinegar than rinse them off. Also spraying them with diluted apple cider vinegar is suppose to help too. this is one of the websites that talks about it. http://www.earthclinic.com

The blue dawn will work when you put it on them let it sit for 5-10 minutes or as long as you can keep them from licking it. It may take two or three washings to get rid of them.
