Are your neighbors the only blame? Do you limit her food intake or do you leave a bowl of food out all day? If your neighbors are the true culprits, then a tet'a'tet is in order. If they want your dog to still visit, please tell them that they must give your dog a healthy treat, like frozen green beans, peas, or carrots. If they like the treats, the dog will go back for more. If it doesn't like the "new" treats, it won't go back. Keep the dog dish away, until feeding time too. Good Luck!

You definitely need to tell your neighbors that although you appreciate their kindness in giving your dog treats, that it is effecting her health. If you don't want to be the bad guy you can tell them that the vet said she needs to lay off the treats because she is getting too big, or something like that.

Try to take your dog to a dog park, if possible, so she can get some exercise and play with other dogs. Good luck!

tell your friends they need to stop, (as i'm sur you have) but you need to do it firmly, because they are putting your dogs life at risk (as dramatic as it sounds it's true)

Bring your neighbors a bag of mini carrots. Tell them to give those to your dog instead.
