Ok, the news coverage is strong about the special puppy that will be the "First Dog" :). The media is collecting suggested names for this special boy/girl. This is not Obama asking, it is just for fun.
Anyone want to suggest some names? Maybe it can be an "Event" too?
Some "most popular" names already suggested in the media poll:
Snoopy, Sarah, Freedom, Martin, Liberty, King, Change, Champ, Yes We Can, Maverick, George, Lucky, Hope, Buddy...Dog...
Other "less popular" suggestions:
Abrahound Lincoln, Lady Liberty, Promise, Oprah, Rosa (Parks?), Donut, Duffy, Duke...Tina Fey...
I will take a first attempt>>>
Synonyms for "ENLIGHTENMENT":
-LOTUS FLOWER (Symbol for "enlightenment.")
-BLOSSOM
-FIRST FLOWER
Synonyms for "PEACEKEEPER":
-DOVE
-PAL ( Short for "palliative/peace.")
Oh my! So many names to think of. It will now be more interesting to finally know the name the Obama's choose after out "think-tank!" lol

I think the girls should name the new member of the family

I really like the name Hope for a couple of reasons. The first obviously being his election to presidency, period. The second being that dogs (and all pets) are such a source of hope in general. My pets get me through all my bad days, and hopefully the Obamas' new dog will do the same for them!

I can't think of a name before seeing the dog!

They should get to know the critter first, then base the name on his personality.

I kinda hope they don't use a name that represents him. Just give him/her a fun name!

I kind of like the name Acorn but seriously I think it should be up to the kids.

It's the kids' dog. Let them choose the name.
