Hmm... it seems my answer was removed? I wasn't trying to be rude, but rather state the urgency that this animal needs medical attention, regardless of how old they are or not. PLEASE bring them to the vet to be examined as soon as possible, because this is NOT a problem to be taken lightly at any age.

You MUST take her to the vet and have them look at her! If there's something they can do to help her, that would be great. If not, he can weigh your options so you can make an informed decision. You don't want the last of her days to be painful, so please take her in asap! This isn't something you just sit and wait out... you don't want her to suffer. If you're worried about the money, ask your vet if they can bill you or set up a payment plan. Most vets will work with you. Good luck!

You really need to go to your vet. That's the only advice that I can give you. And the sooner the better as you really don't want to see Cleo in pain.

I agree with Jessica; you must take her to the vet and find out what is going on. Once you do that you can make a decision. Last September we had to make that decision about our 16 year old Border Collie. It was the hardest decision of my life, but I know it was the kindest thing I could do. Your vet should be able to give you an objective opinion about her condition and then you can make the decision.

It's such a sad thing to go thru, I'm not to good on a computer but there is something that I think will answer your question, on yahoo put in ten commandments of dog ownership, we love our animals and sadly they have to leave us most of the time my girl was 16 1/2 and I will always have pets but there will never be another like her, she was with me thru the best of times (Wedding gift from husband) thru the worst of time (death of my husband, father & sister) and she new when I was sad or happy, sad she come and put her cheek against not a kissy dog (greyhound) and when I was happy she would turn back into the prima donna she was, I'll say a prayer for you and I know you'll think of your pet first, and don't feel bad about crying
