Sorry to say this but you are asking for a major law suit as well. Even if in your own home a person can sue you. You need help with this dog ASAP.You didn't mention the type of dog. I had two spaniels with "rage syndrome" and sadly nothing can be done. Its a genetic issue. You have to get with a really good trainer no matter the cost and it must wear a muzzle. My own dogs bit me over 5x. That was when I had to do something. They were just big babies but they has issues big time from in breeding or something? Although they came from two totally different litters at different times. This is a very serious matter and should not be taken lightly at all. You could not only loose everything plus your dog, someone could be hurt badly. It truly is something you alone can't correct it will take a professional to deal with this one. I sure wish you luck as you sure have a problem. Best wishes.

You are very lucky your friends still come around! Your dog is showing very aggressive Alpha dog syndrome!!!! My friend has a Dobie/poodle mix and believe you me, she is nasty! They even had to have her canine teeth ground down because she was drawing blood on their other dog. They got rid of the nice dog, and kept the Terror!! I bought them a muzzle for her, and told them that they needed to start changing her behavior right away, as she was going to turn on them. Did they listen?NO! Well just the other day, they were all just sitting there, and my friend went over to her husband to give him a kiss, and Terror Bitch ran across the room and tore in to my friend causing severe tears on her arms, her lip, her husband's cheek, and his forearm!!!!!! Now excuse me, but I would have caged her immediately and shut her in the closet for the next day! This was a senseless attack of aggression not from fear - just aggression! Yes fear can provoke a reaction, but most of the time an animal will aggressively go for someone, it is meant to show them who is the head of the household. Muzzle your dog, correct your dog, and hope to hell the friends don't sue you or turn you in for having a vicious dog, even though she is in your house. Take necessary action now, before she hits on a child and scars them forever. This kind of behavior is definitely not acceptable regardless what is causing it!

There's two types of biting, aggressive and defensive. I agree that you need to get your pup evaluated. This is a very unhealthy situation to be in. And I'd do it ASAP before it escalades. I also feel very badly for the pup, for whatever reason, is scared. Poor thing needs some help.

I agree with others. It sounds like it could be fear.Scared dogs will often go after someone or something be it "Gets" them. You need a pro to evaluate your dog and first find the "why" and then what to do to help your dog. She's not a happy dog right now. Educate yourself by reading books on dog behavor. It may help you get the right kind of trainer. Try Ceasar Milans books. You can get then on the Dog Whisperer site.

Make sure you get a good trainer. One who has experince in snarky dogs. You want a certified behavior trainer. I also agree that a vet may be able to help, and may know of a good trainer. Also, I agree to put the dog away when you have company over. I would also not let this dog be with your other dog unsupervised. You don't want your other dog getting hurt.
