This isn't a problem for us but we are really curious about why my cat Winston keeps meowing. We have been following him around and he does not seem to be in any pain but he just keeps cute like meowing. It's not like a howl kind of meow, like a in pain meow it is just a meow that he keeps constantly doing unless you hold him. Does any one have a suggestion to what this is? If we don't find anything we will probably tak him to the vets just to have them check it out.

Some cats are more vocal than others. They can meow for numerous reasons such as they are happy, they want attention, or they are hurting. Each cat is different but after a little while you should be able to understand why your cat is meowing.

It sounds like he is just doing it for your benefit. He is telling you what he wants in a way that you seem to understand. The meows are your orders

If his meowing gets your attention and then you talk to him and hold him, he may have learned is a way to get more attention. I know this happened with my cat, Thunder. He cried--I ran to him to see what was wrong, petted him and talked to him. Now he does it whenever he wants me. It works nearly every time, except when I'm eating dinner. Now he seldom does it at dinner because it doesn't work. YOur cat may be training you, too!

My cat used to do the same thing, he finally stopped doing that so much. When we got him he was just a kitten. Now he is about 3 years old and he only does this when he is wanting my attention. He is healthy and not in pain, just wants a lot of attention.

Hello Nichole, is Winston nuetered?,if not that could be a reason, could be stir-crazy or bored, you might want to find some new activities to break up his old routine, could very well be pain related, toothach to problems with anal-glands, have the vet check for those type of things with his exame, hope you find the right aswer for Winstin.

Is he nuetered? He may be calling for a mate. And when you hold him it's comforting to him so he stops.
