My Cat 'Talks' Constantly

Urgency:Need to know

Category: Behavior & Training

Asked by: Julie H. (DesertJules) 1 year ago

Paka is a very chatty cat - to the point of insanity. I've tried ignoring him, but he's much more stubborn than I am and will escalate the behavior.

This is a problem, because it drives 'dad' crazy. When we get up in the morning, we are subjected to constant meowing.

Is there a way to discourage these 'conversations'?

Is he neutered? Sometimes a frustrated cat will make the most annoying noises. Mine does if he wants food. There is nothing worse than an annoying cat talker. But nothing nicer than their cute little sounds.

maybe show her a lil more attention.. She may be lonely... When we 1st got our cat we felt bad that he would be lonely, so we went out and got another kitten.. They have a fun time together.. Maybe the loneliness is the problem? Ask the vet they may be able to help...

My parent's cat is the same way. And she has a very whiny meow, so it is extremely annoying. So far we haven't found a way to discourage it. We've tried ignoring her, making a loud noise when she starts to startle her and stop it (kinda like what some people do to dogs), and a few others but nothing has worked.
