I have had Abbie 7 or so years and since the day she came into our lives she has had a thing for plastic bags. She "pets" them, over and over as if she just likes the sound it makes. This is especially fun in the middle of the night. I know there are other cats who do this right? She also must sit/lay on anything paper. Newspaper, catalog, magazine, pizza box, whatever, if it is horizontal, she will lay on it. Heaven for Abbie will be a plastic bag to bat while she can lay on a pizza box (in hammock form if possible) in a sun ray.
Does anyone know why this is all so much fun for her? Is it the equivilant of me enjoying the sound of the pop of bubble wrap?

My cat does the exact same thing. He loves to sit on/in plastic bags and spreads out on newspapers.

My cat does this too. I have to make sure that he can't get into anything that makes noise at night or he will keep me up all night. He is addicted to plastic bags.

I really don't have any idea why they love bags and newspaper so much but my cats do also. My male cat can't get enough of someone trying to read the sunday paper, if you push him away he will keep coming back for more. We basically have to go in a room and shut him out to read that paper. Maybe the paper and bags are made of something that brings them to it?

i think all cats loves plastic bags and cardboard boxes. The more crinkley the bag the better. I've had a giant ToysRUs bag in my office for almost 4 months because the cats enjoy playing with it so much. Just make sure the cut the handles on all bags so she doesn't get her head caught in them.

my two kittens and a previous cat had obsessions with plastic bags. the previous cat would actually sit and lick them for hours on end. I have no idea where the plastic bag cravings come from!
as for sitting on paper or boxes, every cat i've had loves to do that. it's like a little bed for them. My oldest cat's favorite napping spot is actually a trash bag full of newspaper for recycling that's sitting inside a box. it's been there for months now because as much as i want to get it out of the house, it's my baby's little bed!
