Call around and also try the ASPCA if there's one near you, also, I know that some states have companies called SNAC (spay and neutering at a low cost) the one I use is in SC, but look and see if there's one around your area, also google, low cost spay and neuter + your location. Something should pop up.

My cat had to have a minor surgery recently to remove a abcess. One vet quoted me at $650. I took my cat somewhere else for a second opinion and had it done for $150. Look around...I'm sure that there is a vet in your area that will give you an appropriate price.

Call the SPCA or a rescue group, they are usually very helpful

Try looking at www.spayusa.com or .org i don't remember which one it is or try looking at the link below...the link is for new york city though...also you might try local shelters because sometimes they do low cost services for people with low income if that is your situation.
