After the contest ends, I wonder how many people will be in the trenches actually DOING anything for their shelter or for animals?
It seems to me that if the huge numbers of people involved in getting points actually got to work lobbying their legislators, raising money for their shelters/rescues, educating about spay and neuter programs and other issues, and just generally getting involved, we'd all see our communities improving by leaps and bounds.
Just a thought.

Those that can help, do, those that cant, find other ways to help. This has been good for ones that have access to a computer during the day, but are not available to help at the shelter. We all want our shelters to succeed and we all try to do our part. Just because we cant be as active as others doesnt make us bad. It takes the entire city/county to make this work. Lets not nickpick on those that cant do as much.

I think being a part of this project has made me a little more aware of the situation. I would hope that others feel the same way and this will have a positive outcome.

I think the people who have previously worked or volunteered at the shelters will continue to do so, maybe more since they won't be spending so much time trying to win this makeover. I think some others who had never done anything involved with the shelter will do something, maybe just donated a few items or a few dollars here or there or maybe foster some pets that aren't ready to go to the shelter to be adopted. Now I am hoping that more people have been educated & they will adopt pets instead of purchasing them. I think it will help in some capacity but not as involved as they've all been with zootoo. It's not as easy when they can't do it in the comfort of their own home, anytime. But some capacity is definately better than not at all.

All I know is that everyone at our shelter is zootooing! The employees, the volunteers, the community service workers ... everyone! We so appreciate the people in our community for pitching in and zootooing, too. Maybe they can't all physically come and help at the shelter - but they sure are showing a huge amount of support by zootooing with us!

I am sure that I will still be greatly involved since I am the shelter manager for my shelter that I am trying to get points for so I think that if you honestly believe that then you need to take more of a stand in your community to do what you can to get the word out.

I think being involved by way of zootoo has helped raise awareness and is motivating people to become more involved in their local shelters. I do hope the momentum keeps building.

I am sure most will continue to be involved. I hope so. The contest has made more people aware of the needs out there and as one zootoo person said, it has even make us closer to our own animals. Good job everyone!

I think the dedicated volunteers will remain. I think most of us jsut went on zootoo to help the shelter. I think we will all still help out on weekends and at events. Last saturday a bunch of us got donations at a parade for our animals!!!

I think this contest has educated a lot of people in our community. PAAWS has a lot of dedicated supporters and volunteers. They have been in our local news and newpapers because of the contest. Plus my husband and I went to volunteer there for the first time yesterday! Most of my family didn't even know PAAWS existed. Hopefully they will at the very least get more people to volunteer to foster or help at the shelter, and maybe encourage others to spay and neuter their pets!

Obviously everyone will continue to help out at their shelters with or without the money. This contest has raised a lot of awareness, at least with people in our area.
