I read in a newspaper column that feeding pets with a plastic bowl is not good, that you should only use
regular bowl, not plastic? I'm wondering what the effects of plastic on pets are?

The only thing I've heard...growing up, our oldest cat had feline acne on his chin and the vet said to switch his bowl to ceramic or stainless. We did and his acne almost disappeared!

It has been said in articles that plastic is toxic. Experts say to feed out of metal bowls but there is plastic everywhere. My dogs have lived to be a really old age and I have always used plastic and they have been fine

my cat had acne around his mouth from plastic bowles. They can harbor bacteria in the fine scratches. I use ceramic now and wash them daily.

They do hold smells and we have had two cats that had acne from the plastic. We use stainless steel ones now. We get them a Big Lots for a very reasonable price.

All of my animals have plastic bowels for the past twenty five years. I have never had any problems. I wash them by hand.
