Hi!
I have discovered that any pet food with "grains" (corn, barley corn meal etc. etc.) causes skin conditions in dogs and cats. It took me a long time to figure this out. After many vet trips, cortisone shots etc.. I finally had my cat tested for allergies. Blood work noted grains as a culprit. It is worth giving it a try and may be an easy fix for Bella. Check out www.waggintails.com on line. when you look to the left... see "allergy diets".....
In addition to food, your vet should have "oatmeal" shampoe that also helps. If above does not work (it probably will), I suggest getting a blood test to determine exact allergens. Good luck! Debbie

I HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM WITH MY OLD BASSET. AFTER A YEAR OF TRYING SOME OF THE SUGGESTIONS OF PEOPLE JUST LIKE WHO ANSWERED YOU, FISH OIL ETC. I TOOK HIM TO A NEW VET AND FOUND THAT HE HAD FOOD ALLERGIES TO THE FOOD I WAS FEEDING HIM. I WENT TO A LAMB OR VENISON FOOD WITH RICE. NO GRAIN. BUT THE VET MAKE THE FINAL SUGGESTION AND SHE WAS RIGHT. THESE ALLERGIES ALSO CAN LEAD TO EAR AND EYE PROBLEMS. GOOD LUCK

My Germ Shep/Lab puppy had the same thing. I asked several people at pet stores, and a local vet and got the same answers from all. Fish oil on their food. Just regular human capsules, punctured and squeezed over their food. Worked for us. We did it over dinner every night and the itching stopped. I was also told to hope for warm/humid weather to help!!!

i would definelty consider diet. Are you feeding them a good brand puupy food? make sure it is actaully rated for puppies, they need the extra vitamins puupy food provides, after that i would not think it would be any type of mange if they are not losing any hair and just having dandruff and dry skin, so you could try omega 3 fatty acids added to thier diet.
