Is it weird to have a head stone and burry all of my animals that have passed away?

For every animal that passes away in this house hold we make a head stone and have a little family burial for them. If it is a dog or a cat, my dad will make a nice casket. Is this at all weird or not a good thing to do? Is it unhealthy or anything? I enjoy doing it, it gives me peace.

Also, my first dog had died a year ago...I sometimes still cry over her at night if i get to thinking about her. Is that normal?

I have all mine privately cremated. I have a shelf with all their cedar boxes, and their pictures right above them.

I have a pet cemetery in my yard with head stones for each pet. Some of our friends think it is kind of strange, but they were family and it is comforting to know they are remembered.

You do what you have to to cope. i have animals I lost 20, 30 years ago that I still cry over. It's normal to grieve because they were such a big part of your life and everyone grieves differently.

As you can see, it's unanimous! We all do things when we lose a pet to remember them by and that make us feel better as well. So, you're absolutely normal unless we're all nuts. I do basically the same thing as deedee. I buy garden stones. So far I have two. One in one garden that says "Molly's garden" and another in a different garden that says "Rowan's garden". I also bury them with their blanket and favorite toys. Sometimes we feel the need to remember them in a more concrete way and you've accomplished that. I think what you do is a nice thing.
