Is it bad if a goat has a runny nose?

We have just gotten two four month old nubian billy goats that are sniffing like they have a cold. Their noses are a little runny and they have a small amount of diarrhea. Is this bad? What is causing it? What should we do?They play and don't seem sick. But then again, we are completely new to raising goats and I know very little. We have had Bambi and Dumbo for 3 days. Any other hints or advice on how to raise happy, healthy, pet goats would be greatly appreciated!

Could be something simple like a cold, or it could be the start of something worse. The best thing would be to have your vet come out for a farm call and check them out. Better safe than sorry.

And, for help raising goats, I always recommend to check with your local 4H groups, they have lots of helpful information. They also can help you connect with other goat lovers in your area.
