How much do I charge for pet sitting?

I charge $15-$20 a visit depending on the number of animals and distance from my home. There's a balance between what someone can afford to pay vs. boarding fees and how inconvenient it is for you to interrupt your day.

We pay about $28.00 a day if somebody has to come in for the small pets.

I think it depends on what your responsibilities are and how close you live. I don't think $25.00 a day is unreasonable.

I would check the prices of other kennels and boarding facilities. and depending on the services you are offering go from there !

You can look online under dog sitters, kennels & boarding to get some kind of an idea of what they are being charged. You can also find paper work (you can print) that you will need signed by you & the dogs owner for many things envolved with the pets care. You said the dog was elderly, please get leagal papers signed, after that you can enjoy this part time job.

My dog walker charges 20 dollars per walk. If she has the dog all day, she will charge 50 dollars/day. This includes any perks, like making kongs, giving medicine, etc.

I pay $45/day but I am leaving my dog with the breeder. He lives in her house when he is there.

I would call kennels in your area and ask what they charge and go from there. Keep in mind though that they are licensed. I would say probably $20 to $30 a day.

I do a lot of pet sitting as a side job. Not knowing all the exact details of your situation. I would take into account the following: what part of the country you live in, are you going to be staying at the person's place or just coming by x # of times a day, how many animals are involved, and what extra things will you have to do (like give meds) while your there. There really isn't any set price or guide line. I would say just take every thing that I just mentioned into account and go with your gut feeling. Just as an example for you, I will be dog sitting for the next ten days for a family that has 3 dogs. I will be staying at their home and one of the dogs needs daily heart medicine. I'm only charging them 30.00 a day.For a grand total of 300.00 dollars for the whole time. I hope that this helps you.
