I have a Cardinal on my property that constantly flys into my windows. It's been doing this for a few years now....every Spring. The problem is, it's now freeking out my dog. Not to mention the constant window smudges. Is there a way to make it stop or move on?

theranddav's answer is right on! If you decide on decals and don't want to have anything too noticeable on your window, you can get special decals that are invisible to humans but that glow for birds because they reflect ultraviolet sunlight. They're called "Window Alert Bird Anti-collision Decals" and you can find them at //store.windowalert.com. You might have to use alot because birds may still crash if you have them spread too far apart.

If you haven't already, try hanging a wind chime or some sort of plant. Sometimes this will keep the birds away. The bird sees reflections on the glass and doesn't realize it is a window. My parents, who live in Missouri, have the same problem. Once they hung a wind chime it seemed to help. The other thing they did was put a couple window decals on the actual window to help the birds identify the window. Before they did that the window killed a dozen or more birds every year.
