Get him a buddy--two is always better than one! Just stay with another male same size range and energy--they will both be happy

Exercise!!!! Also if he is caugth chewing something up, tell him no, then offer him something he is allowed to chew on. Min pins are very intelligent. After some good exercise, try training him to do tricks. that will help wear out his mind after the exercise has worn out his body. I have had 4 min pins now and they have all been different. I have had bolters, and non leash walkers and in between. It will take patience and consistency with exercise and training. And yes, he will probably settle down as he ages. Good luck!!!
MIN PINS ROCK!!!

We have had our min pin for about 2 years and she is slowly calming down. It has taken lots of patients and love. Lots of very durable chew toys have worked for our dog.Min pins are very known for being bolters, if they see an open door they will run, so be very careful. We also had to by a harness for walks because Sandi (our min pin) could wiggle right out of a collar.Min pins need alot of attention and playtime and usually do not like to spend long amounts of time alone. It has been a long road for us but Sandi is a wonderful part of our family and we could not do with out her. So my best advice is lots of love, attention, and a huge variety of safe chew toys (we have to buy toys for heavy chewers if we want them to last more than an hour). Good luck and just give it time.

excercise, excercise, excercise! Walking him, playing with him and obedience training. Walking or training him to run with you on rollerblades, or a bicyle or treadmill. If you really want to see what that can do watch the Dog Whisperer. I have 2 8 month old puppies and by the end of the day they are worn out. Between my husband and I we make sure they are tired. I other suggested the Ceasar Millan the Dog Whisperer If you can't get Nat Geo channel. Look on line he has CDs and books as well as his web page. Good luck -don't give up.

Exercise! Exercise! Exercise!
A tired dog is a good dog...
Just because your dog is little -- it does not mean he will be a couch potato.
Even though he's little in size and young -- you need to make sure you are always the leader -- set up boundaries -- and make sure he follows them (you too! don't give in).
Playdates are a great thing too -- 2 or more dogs can tire each other out better than us humans just doing the walk thing.
Make him work for all that he does -- whether it's his meal, a treat, a toy or something he treasures.
Try watching Cesar Millan on the Nat'l Geo Channel -- he is great -- his rules are -- exercise, discipline and then affection.
The walk thing is a great thing -- teaches that you are leader -- if only the walk is done right -- Cesar shows you how...
Neutering does not make a dog get fat and lazy -- but it's certainly a wonderful thing -- so no more puppies in the world -- and helps to deter reproductive organ cancers/diseases later in life for your min pin...
Good luck!
