How does one treat an aquarium(30 gal tank) spoiled by Fish virus?

My fish tank had 18 fishes last summer - one day I felt pity for a leftover (feeding fish)Guppy and put it in my tank. Believe it or not, that little guy killed ALL my 18 fishes - I tried Fin repair medication, changing cycle with fresh water - nothing worked! I beyond mad and left this little orange guy in a fish bowl(without any plants) for 3 weeks without added food(OK, I was mean) and still the he was kicking alive with no infection except a tiny patch of fin loss. At last, I set in our outdoor pond.

If anyone solved a similar problem, PLEASE do let us know before someone pays a price of 18 fishes again.

Thanks a lot,
C

you are going to have to do alot of cleaning, take everything out of the tank and hand wash it. make a hot water n vinigor solution and hand wash everything. from this mix into a luck warm water bath and scrub scrub scrub, then over in a cold water dip. repeat step 2 n 3 a few time's. you are going to have to do this with every plant (hope they are plastic) and every deco item. get new rock's or wyou will be washing for a while. then when the tank is empty do the same step's on the tank. make sure you was with plenty clean water (step 2n3)
there is never a 100% on placeing new fish into your tank, you always run a risk. (dont blame the guppy)
