Some dogs get used to it others don't. Some dogs the hair is not a problem and others it's so thick air cannot circulate in the ear and that can cause problems. Ask your vet if it's necessary for your dog. Then like it's been said have the vet or the groomer do it.

My vet explained to me that some hair is good to have in their ears because it can keep infection out; but, if the ear is infected then you do want the hairs removed. I agree with Michi5 that it's probably better to let your vet or groomer do it. My particular groomer only removes a few at a time and it doesn't seem to bother my little poodle, Blazer, too much when it's done that way.

I wouldn't sit still either if someone was going to pull hair out of my ears! It hurts!!!!!! If it isn't a whole lot of hair I would just cut it back and keep the ears clean and put ear powder in them once or twice a month. If it is alot of hair you can let the groomer or vet be the bad person.

If your dogs don't stay still for ear pluckings then taking scissors to the ears would not be wise. Probably best to pay a groomer or your vet to do it.
