Hamster seems ill.

I have a hamster who, up until now, has been the picture of health. He was energetic, and had a sweet personality. Today, though, I looked into his house, and called his name. He poked his head out to answer me, and I saw that his nose was a bit red. I didn't really think anything of it, but I watched him carefully and saw that his behavior was on the odd side. I'm writing this 10 minutes after he first poked his head out, and he still hasn't stopped itching himself and is grooming himself excessively. I was wondering if there could be anything wrong with him. Please answer ASAP!
