My dogs wear sweaters when it is cold, so they take pretty well to costumes. My boyfriends mom bought my Yorkie devil horns, since he is a little stinker... He was a devil for halloween that year. We also have a Shrek costume from target, and frankenstein from target. I got them on clearance after Halloween.
I think if you are not putting your dog in harms way, and they don't mind then costumes are just adorable!

I don'tr have a dog...but I think the cuttest outfit I saw for a dog was a "Bride" and "Groom". A friend of mine has two labs, and she dressed them up to get married. It was the funniest thing ever. The bride even had a garder on. lol...it was hilarious!!!

I have never dressed my dogs up for Halloween. Not that I have anything against it....it's just that my dogs have always been on the large size and somewhat intolerant of having clothing on (not that I could readily find anything that would fit them). We've done the red plastic devil horns for pictures...or I thought it would be cute to put a tie around Sherman's neck and get a picture. But I've never donned costumes on my pets and taken them out for Halloween...I don't think they'd enjoy it.

I dressed my dog as a cow one year in a homemade costume, he even had an udder (an inflated latex glove)and cow bell. I dressed as a farmer and went trick-or-treating. People LOVED it and even put dog treats in my bag.
