Did you hear about how the Bush/Cheney Administration tried to eliminate Endangered Species Act Protections for wolves in Greater Yellowstone and the Northern Rockies?
More than 100 wolves had been killed in Wyoming, Idaho and Montana before Defenders of Wildlife and other conservation groups prevailed in court and secured a temporary reprieve for these amazing animals.
Now President Obama has suspended the outgoing Bush/Cheney Administration's latest plan to remove the region's wolves from the list of federally protected threatened and endangered species.
I just sent a message to encourage federal officials to adopt a more balanced and responsible wolf management plan this time around. And I hope you will, too.
It's easy to help. Just send your message online at:
Wolves are an important part of Greater Yellowstone and the Northern Rockies. Together we can ensure a lasting future for these amazing animals.
Thanks for helping...

Yes I read that they had suspended wolves from endangered list for Colorado, not for Idaho, Wyoming etc. They are trying very hard to strike a balance-which is difficult to do when ranchers shoot the wolves and government leases grazing rights to ranches instead of leaving it for prtotected area.

You would think that by now the government would learn from past mistakes. People have tried killing off the wolves before and there were huge ripple effects from that. I'm so glad that the current president is taking fast action to protect this amazing animals.

Yes, President Obama does not want to go along with that!

The wolves changed my presidential vote. When the potential V.P. allowed the killing (shooting from a helicopter with high powered riffles is not hunting) of wolves that was it for me. I get the emails from Defenders too as well as other groups.
