Cesar Millan recommends 45 minutes daily as the bare minimum for exercise time WITH your pet. Do you walk your dog daily? If so, how do you find the time to fit the daily walk into your schedule?

I try but sometimes the weather where I live makes it impossible. When that happens I let them out to play in our large yard for short periods of time many times a day. Being two young dogs they tear around the yard chasing each other and wear themselves out. By the end of the day they are pooped puppies. I thinking of a treadmill for the winter which is long and very cold here.

Sometimes I skipped a day but most of time everyday

Ideally I do, but some days I have to leave for work earlier and I can't quite squeeze it in. With it getting darker earlier, it is difficult to do in the evenings.
If it has been a day or two between walks, I try to step it up the following time with either more speed or a longer distance.

I walk Moonie Moo 3 times a week for about 20 minutes a day, I would love to spend more time with all of my animals.

I walk our dogs when I can. When we do walk them its about 1 hr of a walk, and each dog gets walked on a different day. Sometimes its alot of walks or a doggy park or just a good time playing in the back yrd..

You could always get a dog walker. That way your dog can play with other dogs and get exercise while you are away at work. Even find a neighborhood kid to walk the dog after school...which you can do without spending a lot of money

We have 4 lots, so we walk them daily at home. I used to walk them around the neighborhood, but a few of our neighbors don't obey the leash law & I don't want to chance a dog fight.

Yes, I walk Rigby daily - sometimes 2x. He expects his daily walk and starts to follow me around when he thinks it's time. He knows my "walky" sneakers as opposed to my work shoes and gets all excited when he sees them come out of the closet. I consider his walk part of my exercise routine and just do it!!!

I don't walk daily, but several times (a minimum of 4) times a week we either take a hike somewhere for an hour or more, or we go for a run in the back yard. Our house backs up to large acreage, and we let the dogs run for 10minutes to 30minutes. When they are playing at full speed they wear out fast. Our dogs also go to daycare for at least 5 hours at least once a week. We got dogs that needed what i would call minimal exercise. Since sighthounds are sprinters, they like to be outside, but only prefer it if you are out there. Otherwise they would rather be snuggling inside with us. When the weather is bad they would rather romp inside, and we will have playtime indoors - and run through commands. Herding breeds and other working breeds need a lot of exercise to keep them happy. 30 minutes to an hour a day if one on one time with your dogs seems like a reasonable amount of commitment - and if someone isn't willing to make/doesn't have that much time, a cat might be a better choice. Some cats need that much one on one time too honestly... it is all about the particular animal you choose.
