Do you mind if your dog licks your face?

I was at the dog park and a guy knelt down and let my dog lick all over his face and mouth and he didn't even try to close his own mouth it was GROSS - in my opinion. Is this guy crazy, or do some people actually enjoy mouth-to-mouth with their pooch? Do you ever put something in your mouth that your dog licked - such as a spoon or ice cream cone?

No, he puts things in his mouth that I do not want in my face or anywhere else on my body for that matter.

I will admit that it is gross but I really don't mind sharing my food with my dog, cats, or birds. If I am eating something with a spoon like yogurt or ice cream or peanut butter I let my animals like the spoon. I would rather not have my dogs tongue in my mouth that is gross. But I do not mind my dog licking my face because thankfully I have a dog that does not like eating poop so I am not worried about that. I don't know maybe I'm crazy but I'm okay with that. They is a limit though.

Face is OK sometimes, but I try to avoid the French kisses from Fido... Thanks, but no thanks.

I totally mind! I think that it is gross, especially since I have witnessed one of my dogs licking her anus.
Even though studies show that dog's mouths are cleaner than humans, that doesn't mean it's clean for a human!
Also, I'd consider the health of the dog's teeth too. Some dogs have terrible teeth and their owners never brush them, so the dog has horrible breath and probably gum disease.
I do allow my dogs to lick my hand but not my face. It's kind of the same logic how doctors don't get sick from their patients. They don't touch their face! It's much easier to simply wash your hands or use a sanitizer.
I don't share utensils with them either. You know, a dog will eat a treat or piece of food that fell on the floor outside, but a human probably wouldn't. I think that same logic applies here!

I let my dog lick my face (within reason) but nowhere near the mouth

The guy was indeed crazy. It's okay to love pets and show affection, but preferably not like that!

I can't let dogs lick me because i'm allergic, but I do give my cat kisses and I've shared my spoon of ice cream with my cats since I was a small child. I'm still alive and healthy so I have no problem with it.

The answer to your question is easy--yes, the guy is crazy. And to even have to ask the question, well...
