Getting ready to say bye-bye to Day light savings time in about a month but the sun has already charged ahead - Yea! My kittens seem to be ready to go to bed earlier and are waking earlier too, I hear their collar bells jingling as I'm trying for those extra winks.
Are you noticing any changes in your pets?

I noticed my rabbit and dogs do. The dogs are convinced that as soon as someone's alarm goes off in the morning, we all need to be up. Cows however, really do notice the time change when they are supposed to be milking. My friend says he can call them in but they are usually waiting every day for almost a week to get milked until they are used to it.

Yes, my cats definitely want their food as soon as it gets dark!

I think pets definitely notice, especially when it's feeding time!

I have noticed a change in my Meesha. Normally my Granddaughters are here all day, every day during the summer school vacation while their Dad is at work. Now that school has started Meesha thinks that the day is over when the girls have left for school and she is waiting impatiently at the window all day for my husband to come home and take her for her nightly walk. I feel sorry for her because she waits all day long. She seems so confused as to what time it really is. She does like the cooler weather though.

Yup, it takes all of my pets about a week to adjust to the time change. Their "internal clocks" get mixed up every time we change the clocks....They're looking for dinner at the wrong time, getting up at the wrong time, wanting to play outside when it's dark, but still early. After a week, they all seem to settle into the change in time and daylight.

I don't notice anything until the actual time change. Jimmy in particular has an inner clock. He knows what time I'm supposed to get up and if I sleep late, he starts poking me. For a week or so after the time change, he'll be trying to get me up at the "usual" time, but after a week he figures it out and settles down.

I wrote a journal a while back asserting that my cats can sense seasonal changes! They surely realize that it takes longer for the day to warm up and dusk comes sooner. They have been trained to come in from the screened porch at dusk--whatever time that may be. They used to be able to stay out until around 9:00 PM, but now they are coming inside by 7:00 or 7:30 PM.
