We are always calling our pets funny names. If you do too, let us know so we don't feel stupid...

I call my Siberian Husky...Booper. I have no idea why and of course when I say it I use the most ridiculous voice. It comes out more like BOOOOOOOPER. Who knows?

Over the years I think I've had different names for pets leading to different nicknames. My first two cats I was going to name Beanie (Black DSH) and Cecil (After Cecil B. De Mill)(Grey/Blue DSH). I changed it to Smokey and Cecil because when Smokey would walk away from me, his rear end looked like a black bear butt so I named him Smokey after Smokey the Bear. Cecil's nickname was Cecil B. Then there was Bruiser because of his big chest and he walked like a Bruiser. Thor, was originally named Phoebe until I realized I overlooked a couple of things. I felt obligated to give him a very masculine name to make up for my error. Geronimo (Mo Mo) who would jump from the floor on to my chest when I was standing. Geronimo thought everyone would enjoy his floor to chest acrobatics and almost gave my neighbor a heart attack when he jumped on to hers. Tomah was named after the city where he was found. Casino came with his name. Medley was named after Bill Medley from the Righteous Brothers but his nickname was Puss because he had "such a puss". Augustus was named after my great great great grandfather and nicknamed Gus. One-Eyed Tom was named for physical reasons. They're all gone now but they were great pets!

We call the aussie "Wigglebutt". If you have an aussie, you know why. They have a bobbed tail and instead of wagging their tail, they wag the whole butt.

What is it about our animals names that we don't apply to our people's names? Maybe its that pure unconditional love we exchange that allows us to speak from our hearts when we say their names. Anyway my 3 all have goofy love names: Isolde: Izzy Doodles, Doodle Girl, Doo Da, Isoldy, Missy Doodles, and the Izmeister.
Sunshine: Sunny, Sunny-Bubba, Bubba, Bubitomo, Bubba-me, Sunny Bunners.
Bodhisattva: Bo, Bo-bo-de-doe, Bobito, Sattva, Sattvata, Bodacious Boy.
I wonder what they would call me if they could talk?!?!
