Bathroom Habits - "Walking it out"

Urgency:Just Curious

I have a hairless chinese crested pooch and whenever he has to make a bowel movement, he always walks around while letting it drop in a path behind him.

I've seen other hairless and hairy cresties do this, but not any powderpuffs. Is there any specific reason they do this, or is it just another quirk to the breed along with bad skin and terrible breath?

Lots of dogs do that. We call them "strollers" at the Playhouse. I don't really think it means anything other than they don't want poop on their feet.

It can be linked to not enough fiber in the diet or not being hydrated enough. I had a dog that would circle and circle as she pooped. I changed her food to one that had more fiber in it and added water to her food. She hasn't had a problem sense.

That is just him. I have had several dogs over the years and everyone makes it their own way. You have the ones that circles, ones that walk, the ones that just stand... kinda silly!
