I forgot to mention that my Bristlenose Pleco's love the algae on the glass of the tanks, but my Commons have never showed an interest.
Pleco's are what they consider "cleaning fish",which only means that they will eat any food/algae in the tank.
No fish like or eat poo on a regular basis, period.Occasionally you can find a goldfish eating it,but it's usually still in the undigested food stage.

Also remember with plecos, a squeaky clean fishtank means no food for them. They do sell algae tabs you can drop in your tank and it feeds them, however if you have goldfish in your tank they should naturally keep it dirty enough for him :)

Congrats on saving Kavi! He looks to be a Pleco, but I can't tell looking at the pic,at what kind he is.
Pleco's can put up with a lot of abuse, but much prefer clean water and the good life, and will thrive if you take care of them.
I own Clown Pleco's ,Hundreds of Bristlenose Pleco's,and a pair of Common Pleco's that are pretty big and at least 12 years old,or more(My memory stinks)
Pleco's will eat anything that you can feed your regular fish. They also need a piece of Driftwood, depending on the particular breed as some use the wood for digesting food, etc. They also love spirulina and Algae Wafers.
Your new friend will also eat all sorts of fresh fruits and veggies.I tend to cook fresh Spinach,Zucchini,Squash,Cukecumbers, etc.,to make it soft for them and the Pleco's go crazy! My big guys will eat all the veggie and then wear the rind like a necklace! lol
I've given them Watermelon, and ripe Cantaloupe, and they'll spend hours eating until it's all gone.
Good luck and I hope this helps!
