I have also had a problem with Nutro, but ONLY with the Lamb flavor. All 3 of my dogs have been eating (senior) Nutro for a couple years with no problem. I recently picked up a bag of the Lamb flavor that I'd never used. One of the dogs got awful diarrhea and then wouldn't touch the stuff. No problem with the other two.

That is so weird that that has that effect on your dog. I feed nutro to my dog all the time, and we fed our old dog about 20 years ago the same food. Dogs just have different sensitivies just like humans do.

I recently read that Nutro had some additional problems.. dogs getting sick and throwing up.. some vets indicated it could be the food.. Personally I would not use Nutro. They are owned my menu foods which was involved with the last food recall. Personally I use Canadae, which is human grade food. It is not sold in every pet store but if you call around you can find a store that does sell it.

I've been feeding my dog Nutro dog food (the Senior formula,) for months, and haven't noticed her getting sick from the food....however I HAVE noticed that whenever I feed her people food or dog food that ISN'T Nutro, THEN she gets very sick, runs, vomit, the works. So I am VERY interested in any discussion of this or anything else someone might have to say. I never thought it was the dog food before because -while- she's eating it, she seems fine, its only when I diverge from her regular food that she gets sick. But I never heard of any problems with it before, either.

I personally have not used it, BUT on another website a guy was giving away other food because his dog was sick and Nutro was "human grade" and the only food which improved his dog's health.
