I use to use Frontline, but after several years of use I was having to use it 1x a week. (Vet's directions) Too expensive and Coalby was highly resistant to having it put on him. I have now switched to Comfortis about the same price of Frontline and I just love the result. It is a pill that they freely chew like it is a treat. Here in the muggy south it is wonderful .

i have a dog who has an allergy to flees. i used to us frontline, but vectra is by far the best thing i have ever used. it protects from fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes. i have a lot less skin problems now with my dog with the allergys. it is also safe to use on my dogs with a cat in the house. some of the others like advatix cannot be used on dogs if you have a cat in your household. vectra also cost less.

I don't anything about Vectra, but to my knowledge Advantage kills only fleas; Advantix repels but does not kill fleas and ticks (therefore, they will just go to you); and, Frontline Plus actually kills both fleas and ticks. Therefore, I always use Frontline Plus with great results.

sorry, I want to specify (my previous comment makes me sound dirty.. :-( ) My apartment complex outside has a really bad flea problem, you can see them jumping around in the grass because a lot of people dont take care of their pets. Frontline is wonderful.

I am a huge fan of frontline as well, I have ZERO issues with fleas and my apartments are swarming with them.

I hear different things about all flea treatments. Some work really well and some don't work at all. Make sure you check out the different bugs they protect from, some only work on fleas, while others also work on ticks and even mosquitoes. Choose the one that protects from the bugs that are prevalent in your area. I've had pretty good luck w/ frontline plus, which kills fleas, ticks, and lice, and Advantage plus.
