Q: zootoo search

Does anybody else find the search feature frustrating? The more I try to refine my search, the more hits I get. Am I missing something?

I could be wrong, but I think the excessively large number of "matches" (tens of thousands) that show up for a very specific product are intentional; it is Zootoo's way of getting products exposed and appeasing the advertisers (and/or increasing the "pages per visitor/member" to help Zootoo's internet ratings/statistics). There have been numerous comments/complaints about the ridiculous search on Zootoo, but to no avail. This suggests Zootoo has no intention of making it easier on the "Zootooer Searchers"--and that it is the advertisers and Zootoo's ratings that have priority.

I wish we could do a boolean search. I hate the lame search method used here at z2! I can't find anything here without thousands of useless hits! It's the worst search I've ever encountered!

I agree. I wish there was a way to go a specific page number or have more items per page. It's very time consuming.

It can be hard to find when you put in too many words or not enough words. I have been trying to start with the company and check out their listings first. Then if I don't find it, I try the product listings.

I have no answer, but am going to add my two cents in hopes that Zootoo's search engine can be improved. Even if you put quotes around the phrase, it makes no matter. You end up with a 100 pages to look through with the word "parakeet" in the title, the word "honey" in the text somewhere, and finally the word "treat" as far away as possible from the other two words. You will end up with cat treats, dog treats, hamster treats, canary treats, etc. ARGH!

I do find that part of zootoo very frustrating.. it should give you an option to search for exactly the phrase you type instead of searching for every word separately and giving you thousands of results

Same here. I'm sure a member will be here with an answer. I'd sure like to know how to do a better search.

I think it depends on what exactly you are searching for. I have tried to narrow down products to as small a group as I can using as few key words as I can. If you try to use and entire name it brings up way too many things that have part of the name in it. I usually try a search and then use the name feature if its a product you're searching for. I agree there should be a better way to search for things (unless of course I've missed it as well.
