Q: Would you ever go to a restraunt and leave your dog in the car while you ate?
I could never go in and eat somewhere like applebees and leave my dog out in the cat while I ate. If I had Skitters with me and needed to eat I would go through the drive through somewhere and get her something too or go somewhere where she could go in with me. But last saturday it was really hot out and I took a break and walked from petco over to starbucks which is just a couple doors down from petco. Also in the parking lot at this mall there is an applebees when I was walking back to petco I heard a dog barking there was a dog in a car over in the applebees parking lot all alone and no windows were rolled down for the dog and like I said it was extremly hot that day. I wanted to go over there and call some one about the dog I a mean why would you do that to your and mistreat them and feel good about yourself while sitting in the air conditioning and eating lunch and having something to qeuntch your thirst while fido is outside burning to death. Let me know what you think of this? Would you leave your dog in a car like this? Also what should I do if I run into this problem again?

No, & no one else should either. When it's 90 degrees outside, a car will quickly heat up to over 108 degrees even with the windows cracked. If you ever find a dog left in a hot car you should be proactive & do something because you may be saving that dog's life. You should write down the license plate number, make & model of the car & have the owner of the car paged. Or call the local humane society or police & stay until the dog is safe. I've already had my first encounter this season with someone who left their dog in the car on a hot, humid day while they went shopping.

I would never leave my dog in the car! If that person was going out they should have left their pup at home in the A/C. These past couple of weeks it has been baking outside. I wouldn't even think about leaving my pup in the car despite it being hot weather or not. It's never acceptable in my opinion.
