Does anyone know if when I take Teddy in to have her put down if they will let me bring her home so I can bury her in the backyard The only pets that are not buried in my yard are Lady, Chelsea and Lowernce but I would think Teddy would want to be buried in my backyard in the yard that she loves so much so that she can always be near her family although I do believe that her spirit will flow free when she is gone but I want to know if the vets will let me bring her home to bury her and have a little funrel for her which I have done for all of my pets including the ones that are not buried in the yard. So Do you know?

We always have our babies cremated because at some point we'll move from this house and don't want to leave them behind, but I know my parents always bring their pets home to bury. I've never heard of a vet not allowing it. You can always call and talk to someone at the vet office to make sure your wishes will be carried out.

It can also vary depending on where you live. Some municipalites do not allow pets buried in residential areas. But as Kelly said your vet would know.

Sorry to hear of your Teddy's illness. I know it's hard.

As Bonnie stated, some cities have ordinances banning the burial of pets in the city limits unless in a pet cemetery. Your vet will know if the city has an ordinance in place. If your vet has allowed your family to take animals for burial before, your city probably doesn't have an ordinance banning it - unless something recently passed. You can check your city ordinances online but it would be easier to ask your vet.
