Will someone help?

I'm here to make a plead! Is there anyone willing to sign a petition againts this biotério? Biotério means: "nursery/ breeding of animals for lab research or similar purposes". The aim of the future center of production of animals is to provide various animals (rats, rabbits or fish) to universities and laboratories in Portugal and throughout Europe. This is a project of the Foundation Champalimaud, in a partnership with the University of Lisbon and the Calouste Gulbenkian. I know it's not in your country. But it's an outrage, for everyone, that after several institutions (FDA included) have said that the animal testing wasn't conclusive and didn't benefit humans.
92% of drugs considered safe in mice are not safe on humans, any safe drug in humans failed the tests in animals (FDA, 2004);
Brussels has proposed a set of amendments to revise the Directive 86/609/EEC. The Eurogroup for Animals, 1986 use new scientific methodologies, the criticism of European citizens in relation to animal testing is getting bigger.
Why worry about the fact that drugs considered safe after animal testing came to be dangerous or even prove lethal when used in human patients, as has happened several times (eg the drug Vioxx, used to combat rheumatism in 2004 caused 27 785 heart attacks, of which 6 946 fatal). Please, Please sign the petition!!
Thanks for your patience,

I am opposed to animal testing and as you say, it's very ineffective. Where is the petition?

I will happily sign it if I can get a copy in english. I need to know that I am signing a petition against and not for animals being used for research. I do not know enough spanish to read that.
