Why are Labs always so hyper? and why are they so strong? Also is it true that Labs are all really stinky because if so I think I need my nose checked becuase they don't smell to me?

I missed the stinky lab question when I answered earlier. Any dog can be stinky given the right circumstances. Usually a smelly dog is due to dirt, oily skin, infection, or dental disease. Dogs need to be kept clean, but they also don't need to be overbathed, which dries out their skin & coat. If a lab is stinky, & its more than just needing a bath, it probably needs to see a vet.

This is kinda like saying all pit bulls are mean.
Not all labs are the same. My mom has 2 black labs and they are very calm and they do not stink.
Also my fiances mom has a yellow lab and she is totally layed back. not hyper at all.
I think it just depends on the dogs personality age and training.

Labs as a breed, when trained properly are not hyper. They're very loving, people-oriented dogs, but they're also action-oriented. They need a lot of exercise or they can become bored easily & they have a lot of excess energy. Lots of exercise & proper obedience training make for non-hyper dogs. They're strong because that's how they were bred...its in their genes. The breed is a muscular dog. It was a breed that at its inception was used to haul fishermen's nets to shore so they had to be strong dogs.
