So my moms cat Cali is a tortoiseshell and like 45% of her (bottom portion) is shedding and she has like a necklace of scabs around her neck. What is wrong with her and if you know what can we do to treat this. Cali is very young, like maybe 3 or 4.

There are numerous reasons your mom's cat could be suffering from hair loss & scabby skin. She should really be examined by a vet to determine the exact cause of the problem & get the appropriate treatment. Just a few examples of potential reasons are allergies, stress, parasites, & psychogenic alopecia. There are other potential causes too numerous to mention. Successful treatment & recovery depend on the cause so correct diagnosis is extremely important.
