Q: Why does my cat like plastic bags so much?

I have a two year old calico female that is absolutely obsessed with plastic bags (and anything similar.) I'm really worried about this because she likes to chew on them and I'm scared it will hurt her. Any idea why she would be doing this?

Oh my goodness-that is so funny... My cat is obsessed with plastic grocery bags too. She goes so far as opening the cabenet door where I keep them and crawling inside the cabinet and sleeping in them. I always know shes in them though because she kneads dough on them so I can them crinkling.

I think its probally the noise its makes. Maybe you could find a toy that makes the same crinkle sound that your cat could get into.

No doubt about it. It's the noise, and maybe the fact they are so light they can be easily tossed around and into the air without claws becoming snagged. My Little Man cannot resist a plastic bag eithr, but for another reason. Why he feels the need to mark plastic bags is beyond me. Merry Christmas! Julee
