Q: Why does my cat carry her stuffed toys all over the house?

April 26, 2009 | By Bommersmom | 8 answers | Expired: 1940 days ago

Every night she carries all of her "babies" into the bedroom and leaves them next to the bed. In the morning I take them back to her bed, then while I'm at work they travel the house, to her food bowl , behind chairs or just down the hallway. I don't understand why? She never had kittens, she 12 yrs old and started this a couple of yrs ago.

I assume your cat has become fond of this toy. My 3 cats all have a "favorite" toy and seem to guard them. I assume your cat is doing the same by keeping the toy with her at all times. She may be bringing the toy in your bedroom and leaving it next to your bed as a gift to you. You observes you doing the same to her in the morning when you bring the toy(s) back to her bed. Your cat sounds cute and sweet!

Animals-like cats have feelings. They pick up a toy for comfort-make them feel safe-carry it around the house

My cat stripe does the same thing. They seem to get attached to thier toys and want them near. Seems to be a common trait with all cats.
