with dallas our pit.. he does this to play or sometimes even to be up at our level.. the dominence.. my girlfriends mom who has a pug i think it may be a little bit different for her.. she has no behavioral problems at all but she does show a bit of that same type of jumpy ways.. for that kind of dog i think they just want your attention.. they want to connect with you and try and show you how they feel.. and what they want to do.. like play or go outside for a lit.. im sure you'll get the hang of your dog.. get to know him..

My dog jumps up on me and gives kisses. I think he does this because I'm the only person he's allowed to do this with, maybe thats the case here too?

I assume from the picture that he is a pug? Are you sitting on the floor when you play? If so there is a chance he is trying to assert his dominance. In his mind you could be another puppy that he is playing with and they learn social behavior by playing. If you let him exercise dominance in play it could lead to dominant behavior in other parts of life. Just remember that your family is like a pack. Remember which role in the pack you want to play; leader or follower.

He probably wants your attention or to play but a little advice break the jumping now while he is little because it's harder to break the habit when he gets bigger.

Maybe he's trying to tell you who's the boss... and it ain't you. Don't know for sure. Give him some structured active activity and praise him for doing what you want him to do.

He just is a very excited and entergetic dog. .given the breed, alot of them are. . you should take him for nice, long, brisk walks to burn energy and calm him.

Of course if he is young he is excited. If you are holding his ball getting ready to throw it, he is trying to get it from you. Same may go for treats. If you hold them up high, dogs will jump to take them. Try stooping lower to his level when playing. The higher up you pull an object away, the more he will jump to reach it.
