My June was fixed last year shortly after giving birth to a litter of kitty's under our garage steps. June was feral when we moved into our new home ,At the time of her kittens birth she still wouldn't let me touch her. But now she is the sweetest June Bug I know. But almost right after she was fixed she just started to gain more and more weight, She eats the same as Johnny and he is fixed also , Why do some cats gain so much weight after being fixed ?

Because they go into menopause early in life

It`s a hormonal problem. Women go through the same thing. Most don`t gey the excerise they need and they eat more. They just get LAZY.

I agree with the previous answer. It is similar to women who go through menopause. Your cat is experiencing a hormone change.
