Q: why do dogs eat grass

It is debatable. Dogs may eat grass just because they like it. Eating grass may not mean they have an upset stomach.

i was always told that if a animal is not feeling good , they would eat grass to sooth the belly ache

I am glad you ask this question-my dog does the same.I think they loke the taste

Mainly, they eat grass to clean out their stomachs (it makes them either vomit or poop). Some like the taste & just eat it, but they usually eat it if they have a bit of a stomach ache, nothing to worry too much about.
