Q: Why do cats hate it when a door is closed?
My cat hercules absolutely hates it when there is a door that is closed. He is persistant & will meow & meow until that door is opened up again. He has even dug holes in the carpet as if he has tried to dig under it.
I talked to my mom the other day & she told me that her cat hates it very much too.
Whats up with these cats? LOL

I'm glad to hear other cats fight the doors too. I thought mine were neurotic. My Star scratches at it obsessively, but I'm not sure exactly what she does because it doesn't leave marks on the painted door. It drives me crazy thought!

My cat also doesn't like when I close a door. He is nosey and thinks something is going on in there that he can't see. He feels like he is missing out on something.

When a cat has the run of the whole house then when a room is closed off to them then they feel confined and can`t be free. Cat are very curious. As a matter of fact, I have a 5 year old Toy Pom and he is the same way.
